Safety and Rescue
Learn key safety and rescue skills, and coastal navigation and tidal planning.
Foundation Safety and Rescue Training
This is the core safety course for all paddlers, that delivers the knowledge required for safety and rescue in a sheltered water environment. A pre-requisite for coaching awards or just a very useful course for anyone that wants a basic foundation of safety principles.
This one day course aims to provide paddlers with the key safety and rescue skills required to operate safely and to be able to deal with common emergencies. These skills form the foundations for safety and rescue throughout British Canoeing qualifications.

Coastal Navigation and Tidal Planning
The Coastal Navigation and Tidal Planning course is designed for paddlers carrying out coastal journeys including islands up to 2 nautical miles offshore in areas of tidal movement up to up to 2 knots and winds of up to force 4. Although it is a pre-requisite for the Sea Kayak Leader Training course, it is also a valuable addition to the skill set of any sea kayaker planning their own trips .
